The Government of the Republic of Slovenia has declared 2024 the Year of Rudolf Maister. In Maribor, which was the focal point of his activities, we are working together to stage an immersive reenactment of the events that happened 106 years ago. On the night of 22-23 November 1918, Maister finally took control of the city by disarming the Green Guard (Schutzwehr). The action, thoughtfully planned and brilliantly managed, started at 4 a.m. and lasted only 47 minutes. Maribor became a Slovenian city.
