Artifacts are like muses that lead us into the mysteries
of our heritage. Curators are guardians who ensure that these objects are preserved for the
future.

Bogo Teply was born in Velika Loka near Trebnje. He studied Slavistics and History in Zagreb and Ljubljana. He took over the management of the Maribor Regional Museum from Franjo Baš in 1950. He paid close attention to the systematisation of workplaces.
In the 1950s, the first curators were hired and began to systematically study the individual collections. Stanko Pahič laid the foundations for the archaeological collection, Jože Curk and Sergej Vrišer for the painting and sculpture collections, Antonija Urbas for the ethnological collection, France Filipič began to study the NOB material, and Marija Žužek began to systematically restore objects.
Teply's collaboration with František Minařik and his efforts to establish and arrange a pharmacy collection on the museum premises is of a particular importance. A major breakthrough for that and also the present time was the guest exhibition of the ''Kurent'' equipment at the Musèe de l' Homme in Paris in 1958.
