The piano is the work of the Tyrolean master Sebastian Lengerer, who worked in Vienna from the late 18th century. The instrument has Viennese mechanics. It was restored in 1904 by the organ and piano builder Franz Serafin Koroschak from Maribor.

The perimeter is painted with diagonal green and white bands, and the coat of arms of the town of Maribor is painted on the central part of the hull.

It is a knee-bent instrument made of red-stained ribbed maple, rosewood and ivory. It has a 15-valve mechanism. Basset horns were typical of the period between 1770 and 1840.

It is made of dark wood and rings of new silver.
It has the so-called German closure system and six finger-holes.
