CALL FOR ENTRIES FOR THE GREAT CREATIONS BY SMALL MASTERS ART COMPETITION 2026

»ART FOR A SUSTAINABLE WORLD«

Dear mentors of primary schools and kindergartens,

In the school year 2025/2026, we invite you to take part again in the art competition “Great Creations by Small Masters 2026”.
This year, we are linking the Creative Path to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which was unanimously adopted by all United Nations Member States. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals are at the heart of this global initiative. The competition is an opportunity to introduce children to the SDGs as they address the key challenges facing the world today: poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice, while highlighting the importance of education, health, gender equality and partnerships. Education is not only about the transmission of knowledge; it is also about nurturing responsible and active citizens capable of contributing to sustainable development. Every individual in society can contribute to a better future through their knowledge, actions and example.

Objectives:
- We teach that people, nature and society are interconnected - caring for the environment influences health, knowledge opens opportunities, cooperation builds community,
- Children learn from an early age that even small actions can make a big difference - at home, in kindergarten, at school and in the community,
- Educational institutions are places where children develop the values, knowledge and skills to live responsibly in a changing world,
- Promote inclusion, respect for diversity and equal opportunities for all children.

The competition is open to all kindergarten and primary school children in Slovenia. They will create artworks in the technique of their choice (drawing, painting, collage, etc.). As last year, we encourage children to create sculptures and hanging sculptures.
Artworks should preferably be submitted on an A3 drawing sheet. In addition to drawings, paintings, sculptures, kinetic sculptures are also welcome.
If the sculptures are made with sufficient strength and durability, they can be sent by post or delivered in person.

Limit: Each child can enter one artwork.
