BAROQUE ART IN MARIBOR CASTLE

The present-day appearance of the castle was decisively influenced by the Baroque period, which gave it a representative, residential character. With an explanation by the curator Dr Valentine Bevc Varl and academic sculptors Vlaste Čebal Sedmak admire the monumental Baroque details and learn more about conservation approaches over time. This will be followed by a tour of the ceremonial Knights' Hall with its stucco and ceiling paintings and the Baroque sculptures by Jozef Straub on permanent display at the Maribor Regional Museum.
