On special occasions wealty carters liked to boast with their festive clothing,
part of which were precious belts and pocket watches.

When the harvest was finished the wreath was woven from the ears of the last corn sheaf and
used to crown the best reaper, mower or housewife. It was hung under the ceiling until the next harvest.

Ovtar's stick

In Styria, guards of vineyards were called ovtars.
They protected the grapes from thieves using ovtar’s sticks,
simple spears spiked with brass nails.

was among the most important factories in Maribor after
the Second World War. Especially popular among its products was
the beverage Ora, known for its catchy slogan:
