The Pharmacy Collection of the Maribor Regional Museum is one of the most important collections of its kind in Slovenia. It was created at the initiative of historian of pharmacology and pharmacist Mr. Franc Minařik with the support of the former museum director Dr. Bogo Teply. The collection contains material that testifies to the past of pharmacology in Styria, Carinthia and Pomurje. The objects were once used by private pharmacists, but the Museum also took over many objects from Maribor Pharmacies. The exhibition takes you inside the pharmacy with original furniture from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. On the shelves original glass, wooden and ceramic pharmacy stands can be observed, and on the pharmacy table there are two scales. Until the First World War pharmacies also had a laboratory and a material room in addition to the sales area. Substances for the manufacture of drugs were kept there and medicines were prepared in the laboratory.
