Clothing has always been intertwined with social, cultural and political influences. It is inextricably linked to fashion and style. Clothes are, after all, also a part of how we communicate with our surroundings and express our mood. Throughout history, clothing has changed in functional, aesthetic, moral and symbolic terms.
Compared to other European countries that were at the forefront of fashion development, the clothing culture in our country was always a bit delayed. The first fashion guidelines came from Spain in the 16th century. This was a time when fashion was consciously created and had its imitators. New, lavish designs were, first and foremost, developed for the courts of Europe, but stylised nuances were carried over into bourgeois and peasant clothing culture.
