The exhibition Vinča Culture in contemporary creations by fashion designer Sanja Veličković is inspired by the fascinating European culture of the period 6,000 - 3,000 BC, which is characteristic for the wider area around Vinča in present-day Serbia. The Vinča culture is known, among other things, for its figurines of predominantly female bodies with accentuated hips, suggestive clothing and jewellery. Among the finds, interesting artistic representations stand out, with very precisely shaped faces with prominent noses and eyes. Sanja Veličković's collection, which combines the past and the contemporary, was presented as part of the 2022 ECOC at the Novi Sad Fashion Week and won an award in Serbia in the category "Guardians of Cultural Heritage".
The temporary exhibition Vinča Culture in Contemporary Creations announces an international symposium 𝙈𝙐𝙎𝙀𝙊𝙀𝙐𝙍𝙊𝙋𝙀 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑 - 𝙎𝙧𝙚č𝙖𝙣𝙟𝙖 𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙤č𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙟, which brings to the forefront new insights into different aspects of life in prehistoric and historic periods in the wider European area.
