2020 will mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Dr Sergej Vrišer, art historian, long-time curator and director of the Maribor Regional Museum, professor of museology and conservation at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana, professor of fine arts and culture at the Faculty of Education in Maribor, Baroquist, uniformologist, and a citizen of Maribor - a writer on culture, art, the past and heritage.
The anniversary will be marked with a temporary exhibition presenting several perspectives of Vrišer's professional work and with objects from the collection of the Maribor Regional Museum, presenting the most important results of his research, which have contributed significantly to the interpretation and understanding of the cultural heritage of Slovenian Styria.
The series of information about Vrišer's work will be complemented by statements from his former colleagues from various institutions, which will add a personal touch to the exhibition in the spirit of "remembering Vrišer".
And as we have found time and time again ... museums are people ...
Vrišer was one of the most important ones for the Maribor Regional Museum.
The exhibition will be open until 31 August 2020.
You are cordially invited!
