FASHION REVIEW

We are launching the project with FASHION REVIEW, which will present Slovenian sports brands and Slovenian fashion designers who design sports fashion or who also have leisurewear in their collections.

They will present:

ELAN, TOPER, PEAK, GOODWILL, LELOSI, WITH JOY, TANJA UVERA FASHION, BARBARIAN FASHION, FIRMA BY SANJA, DAVID BACALI, JKH IDENTITY, LARA BERNOT, PATRICIA PIE and ANJA MEDLE.

The relaxed atmosphere on Saturday will be marked by lectures, presentations and exercise.

OPENING OF THE "FASHION AND SPORT" EXHIBITION and a conversation with Slovenian athletes

18 May is International Museum Day.

Opening ceremony at 20:00 the temporary museum exhibition "FASHION AND SPORT", where we will use museum objects to present the clothing and props of 15 different sports: gymnastics, wrestling, track and field, swimming, swimming, sailing, kiteboarding, tennis, cycling, athletics, judo, basketball, volleyball, handball and football. The exhibition will be complemented by loaned items from Slovenian sportsmen and sportswomen, as well as other individuals and various associations and institutions.

At the opening of the exhibition, we will also have a chance to meet Slovenian athletes who will share their sporting successes, memories or current challenges, and we will also talk about the clothing culture associated with each sport.

FASHION AND YOUTH

The Fashion Month at the Museum project will conclude on 25 May, as it has every year, with the traditional programme FASHION AND YOUTHon Youth Day. Students will present their creations in the form of a fashion show. We cooperate with all Slovenian institutions that educate young people in design and textiles.

Due to the Summer Olympic Festival of European Youth, which will take place between 23 and 29 July, when around 3,600 young athletes will be in Maribor, we will extend the occasional exhibition FASHION AND SPORT until 23 September 2023, when we celebrate the Day of Slovenian Sport. During the week of the Olympic Festival, the Museum will also participate in various activities, the closing ceremony of the Festival will take place at the Castle Lodge, and we are also preparing other interesting sporting and museum attractions to be included in the Festival's programme during that week.
