WE ARE GOING ON OUR OWN WITH UGM
During the thematic guided tour, Dr. Valentina Bevc Varl, Museum Consultant, will present paintings by Anton Nowak (1865-1932), which are kept in the Maribor Regional Museum. She will talk about the interesting life story of the Maribor-born painter, co-founder of the Vienna Secession, and how his paintings came to our museum. Many of his paintings were later given to the UGM collection, because the gallery deals with modern art.
Maribor Art Gallery will hold an exhibition in the UGM Cabinet called MARIBORIAN REFLECTIONS, with presented prints from the Maribor Art Gallery and the Maribor Regional Museum including depictions of the Maribor Castle. A small painting by the Impressionist painter Ivan Grohar will be particularly highlighted at the exhibition, Chapel (in Crngrob), 1907 - its journey from private owners, through the Grohar Club to the Maribor Regional Museum and the UGM Collection.
